After working on my strange novel about aliens, robots, pig people, ghosts, and kids with powers for the last four years, I’m so happy I can finally announce that it sold!

Here’s the official announcement memo from Publishers Marketplace:

Author of New American Fiction Prize-winning Electricity and Other Dreams, Micah Dean Hicks’s debut BREAK THE BODIES, HAUNT THE BONES, in which dangerous machines and unnatural beastmen mysteriously arrive in a dying town already filled with ghosts, forcing a haunted brother and sister to figure out how to save their family before tortured spirits tear the town and the newcomers apart, to John Joseph Adams Books, in a pre-empt, for publication in Spring 2019, by Kerry D’Agostino at Curtis Brown (NA, Audio).

I’m incredibly excited to be working with John Joseph Adams. Huge thanks to Kerry at Curtis Brown, to friends who gave feedback on the book as it took shape, and to Brenda for, well, everything.
